Some words from Lydie (massage therapist): 29 May 2022
“Hi, as some of you know already, I am currently off work for a while and I am unsure when I will be able to return to Serenity. I can’t express how much I have been showered with loving, supportive words and how warming it has been for me. Please be assured that, overall, I am doing really well. I have an expert team around me which is absolutely amazing.
Of course, I will let you know when I am taking appointments again. In the meantime, please continue to look after yourself (including massage and other body work).
Warm kind regards, A bientot! Force et vaillance en toutes circonstances.”
Please be patient, appointments may be a few weeks away 29 May 2022
We are looking for another Remedial Massage Therapist to fill some gaps at the clinic, so while we are waiting for that/those amazing therapist(s) to arrive, Rose and Sue are working very hard trying to fit clients in. Please be patient as you currently may need to wait several weeks for a booking.
If you have a voucher, don’t worry about the expiry date, we are honouring them all.
Massage Therapy for reducing stress and boosting your immune system 18 May 2022
No one can deny the restorative healing power of massage. It can reduce pain, depression, anxiety, and stress, along with boost our immunity. All of these factors influence our mental and physical well-being. Massage is known to help reduce pain by increasing blood flow, easing inflammation, and reducing muscle tightness. This, in turn, can help improve our quality of life.
It’s a well-known fact that individuals who have a high level of stress are more prone to injury and illness. Reduction of stress, is another benefit of massage. Stress is known to raise your heart rate, cause elevation of the stress hormone, cortisol, which can raise blood pressure, cause headaches, digestive problems, sleep problems, affect memory and concentration issues, to name just a few. These all affect our immune system and can make us physically ill. Chronic stress impairs your body’s inflammatory immune response, increasing your susceptibility to infection.
Research has shown that receiving regular massage therapy helps boost our immune system by increasing the circulation of lymph and blood flow throughout the body. Massage increases the activity of white blood cells that help our body fight diseases and may help with reduction of cortisol.
